NORFOLK COUNTY, MA—A Quincy man is facing charges after allegedly kidnapping a 64-year-old Asian woman at the MBTA’s Wollaston Station in Quincy early Saturday morning and subjecting her to hours of rape before releasing her in a Brockton parking lot.
Christian Lynch, 26, an African-American man from Quincy, was arraigned Monday on charges of rape, kidnapping, strangulation, assault, and battery on a person age 60 or older.
The 64-year-old victim was walking to work when Lynch kidnapped her from the train station a little after 7:00 a.m.
She was immediately raped in the car, then taken to an apartment on East Elm Avenue where she was repeatedly strangled and sexually assaulted for hours, according to Norfolk County District Attorney’s Office.
At around 6:00 p.m., the victim was driven to a Lowe’s parking lot at Brockton’s Westgate Mall and “released.” The victim was able to flag down a passerby, who then contacted the police.
Lynch allegedly duct-taped the victim’s mouth, hands, and feet. She later told detectives that she “thought she was going to die.”
The elderly victim was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital. According to the DA’s office, authorities were already looking for the victim because she did not show up to work.
Detectives were able to review surveillance footage from the T station and identified characteristics of Lynch’s car, which led them to identify him as the owner of the vehicle. He was arrested Sunday at a convenience store near his house.
Lynch reportedly told police that he was “tired of swiping” on dating apps and stated “this is me going out into the world getting a date,” according to Boston25News.
The 26-year-old suspect was also charged in a separate incident for attempted kidnapping and assault with the intent to rape. Lynch actually tried kidnapping another woman at Wollaston Station 20 minutes earlier, however, she was able to fight him off and escape.
According to police, both women who were targeted are of Asian descent.
Lynch pleaded not guilty and was held without bail pending a “dangerousness hearing” on November 26. According to court documents, Lynch identifies himself as a former “star” basketball player at Eastern Nazarene College in Quincy.
