HONG KONG, PRC—Tiantian Kullander, co-founder of a $3 billion crypto finance company Amber Group, passed away in his sleep on November 23.
The 30-year-old leaves behind a wife and son.
Kullander, also known as “TT,” launched Amber back in 2017 with a group of finance insiders, including former employees from Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley.
Before Amber Group, TT was an emerging markets trader at Morgan Stanley and a member of the structured credit trading team at Goldman Sachs.
In 2019, he earned a spot on the Forbes 30 Under 30 list, which recognizes the most talented emerging entrepreneurs and leaders.
Amber Group described TT as a loving and hard-working man who “put his heart and soul into the company” and hurled the company toward success.
“TT was a respected thought leader and widely recognized as a pioneer for the industry. His depth of knowledge, his willingness to collaborate and his desire to always help others benefited countless start-ups and individuals. His insights and creativity inspired many projects, people and communities.”
Earlier this year, Amber Group reached a staggering $3 billion valuation after scoring a $200 million funding round. The company also revealed earlier this month that it was in the process of raising another $100 million.
“He put his heart and soul into the company, in every stage of its growth. He led by example with his intellect, generosity, humility, diligence and creativity,” the company statement reads.

“His insights and creativity inspired many projects, people and communities.”
Arthur Cheong, founding partner of DeFiance Capital posted on Twitter saying that the “industry lost a young, bright, and importantly, a good soul.”
Crypto trader Hsaka stated: “Never came across a single person who had anything negative to say about him. A near impossible feat in this industry and a testament to his character.”
