NEW ORLEANS, LA—Bunnak “Hannah” Landon, 43, was charged with first-degree murder and obstruction of justice after surveillance footage showed her wheeling a chlorine bucket in a wagon containing the body of her boyfriend’s 6-year-old daughter in the New Orleans suburb of Harahan.
Chilling surveillance footage showed Landon carting the bucket of the deceased 6-year-old and dumping it outside the home of the girl’s biological mother around 9:30 p.m. Tuesday.
Bella Fontenelle, 6, had been beaten and strangled, according to Jefferson Parish Coroner Gerry Cvitanovich.
Landon lived with Bella’s dad and little sister on Donelon Drive, where she allegedly killed the girl before placing her body into the bucket and taking it to nearby Sedgfield Drive, reports the New York Post.
Bella’s father reported his girlfriend (Landon) and Bella missing to the police around 7:30 a.m. Wednesday. Neither of Bella’s biological parents is believed to be involved in the gruesome murder.
Authorities launched an investigation and went to Bella’s biological mom’s home and made the horrifying discovery in the bucket on the front lawn about an hour later.
Detectives then canvassed the area and obtained surveillance footage from several homes, which showed a woman matching Landon’s description wheeling the bucket. Police later located Landon at a nearby hospital around 2 p.m. Wednesday. She was taken into custody.
Court documents in 2021, showed Landon was named as a suspect in a country club incident that led to injuries on the face and hands of Bella’s mother, according to the New York Post.
Landon was cited for simple battery, however, it’s not clear what the resolution of the case was after she filed a temporary restraining order against Bella’s mother, claiming she feared she would suffer injury, loss, or damage.
Bella attended St. Matthew of the Apostle School and classes have been canceled for the rest of the week.
